A few weeks ago my friends and I hosted an Essential Oil Make and Take party. It was a fantastic way to introduce our friends to our wonderful world of oils! We decided on a beautiful evening making some useful gifts for the holidays. We had a ten minute teaching session, to introduce Young Living and why we love it so much, which probably could have been longer, but we kept it short and answered lots of questions. Then we made the goodies. We made a Thieves and Orange Hand spray, a Peppermint and Lavender Sugar Scrub, and a Purification Carpet Refresher. The night was so much fun and I would totally recommend hosting one with your friends!
We decorated for the night with my girl Brittany's milk glass and pretty decor. And our co-host Olivia brought some yummy eucalyptus, which I still have on my kitchen window ledge.
So on to the recipes! First is a favorite of mine, Purification Carpet Refresher. We spend a lot of time on the carpet, maybe if you have a toddler you do too. And our carpet was stinky! This was a great, chemical-free, solution for that stinky carpet smell. It also worked wonders when we got a new area rug that still had that factory/chemical smell (to be honest, we got a cheap rug because of said toddler, and it smelled of the plastic it was made of, not the wool of the rug of my dreams... someday!). Enough rambling- here it is:
Purification Carpet Refresher:
Fill 4 oz. jar with cornstarch.
Add 5-10 drops of Purification.
To use: Shake onto carpet and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Vacuum away! Seriously, it's that easy and works like a charm!
Peppermint and Lavender Sugar Scrub:
Fill 4 oz. jar half way with brown sugar
Add 1 tbsp. organic vegetable oil
Add 6 drops lavender
Add 4 drops peppermint
Top off with cane sugar and mix well.
This scrub is wonderful to keep dry winter hands smooth. The peppermint is invigorating and the lavender is soothing. It will be a great addition to your winter skin care routine!
Thieves and Orange Spray:
In a 2 oz. jar add:
5 drops Thieves Oil
5 drops Orange Oil
A pinch of salt
Top off with distilled or purified water.
Shake well before use.
This spray is so multi-functioning. Use it to keep hands clean and refreshed, to clean your kitchen counters, doorknobs, shopping carts, anything you need purified!
And it smells so good! I have this in the diffuser right now, spicy and sweet. A great combo!
So that was our super fun night of oily fun! We asked everyone to pay $10 to cover the cost of supplies and they all went home with 3 gifts to keep or give away! It was so much fun, I would highly recommend trying it!
